What we ship

Every layer of the Power BI stack, wielded end-to-end

We're a full-lifecycle Power BI practice: discovery, semantic modelling, DAX, visuals, deployment, governance, and .NET integration. No handoffs, no finger-pointing.

Report design & development

Executive-grade visual language, decomposition trees, tooltips that teach, and drill-through pages that respect your users' cognitive budget.

Dashboard creation

Live operational dashboards for ops, finance, sales, and product teams. KPI targeting, alerts, and mobile layouts built in from day one.

Data modeling

Star schemas with real dimensions, disconnected date tables that actually work, DAX measures grouped, documented, and version controlled.

Real-time analytics

DirectQuery, DirectLake, streaming datasets, and Fabric real-time hub — with the guardrails to keep DAX fast on live data.

Power BI + .NET integration

Embedded reports, row-level security tied to your identity provider, custom visuals, writeback APIs — Power BI as a first class citizen inside your product.

Advanced DAX

Time intelligence, virtual relationships, calculation groups, and format strings. When basic measures stop scaling, we're the second call you shouldn't need to make.
The Data Driven Intel approach

Discovery, model, measure,then visualise

90% of the value in a great dashboard is created before the first visual is placed. We invest in the model — so the visual layer is the easy part.

01

Discovery & metric tree

One workshop, three stakeholders. We leave with a written metric tree, a decision list, and a wireframe you can veto before we build.

02

Semantic model

Star schema, conformed dimensions, calculation groups. DAX gets its own file with unit-tested measures, not sticky-note logic.

03

Refresh & performance

Incremental refresh, aggregations, and query folding. Reports load in <5s and refresh windows fit inside your ETL SLA.

04

Governance & deployment

Workspaces, deployment pipelines, RLS, sensitivity labels, and change log. Audit-ready, executive-friendly.

Under the hood

Every discipline a Power BI practice needs

A modern Power BI developer wears seven hats: query author, semantic modeller, DAX engineer, visual designer, deployment operator, embedded integrator, and governance steward. We built our practice around all seven.

DAX at scale

Time intelligence, calculation groups, virtual relationships, and format-string expressions. We write measures that stay fast when the fact table crosses a billion rows — using CALCULATE, KEEPFILTERS, TREATAS, and window functions where they earn their place. Basic DAX is table stakes; advanced DAX is where scaling problems get solved.

Power Query & M

Extract, transform, and load from SQL Server, Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake, SharePoint lists, REST APIs, and Excel — the full connector matrix. We author query-folding-friendly M so transformations push down to the source, keeping refresh windows short and gateways happy.

Semantic modelling

Star schema, conformed dimensions, role-playing dates, and hierarchies that survive schema drift. We consolidate CRM, ERP, and finance sources into a single reusable model — the foundation that everything else depends on.

DirectQuery, Import & DirectLake

We pick the right storage mode per fact table, not per report. Aggregations, dual mode, composite models, and DirectLake on Fabric — each with the trade-offs that keep P95 dashboard load under a second.

Power BI Service & Gateway

Workspace hygiene, deployment pipelines (dev / test / prod), incremental refresh, XMLA endpoints, dataflows, and On-premises Data Gateway configuration for VNet-bound sources. The operational side of Power BI, done right.

Custom visuals

When the built-in gallery falls short, we build with the Power BI visuals SDK (TypeScript, D3) or embed R and Python visuals for statistical layers. Certified for marketplace when needed, scoped for one report when that's all it needs.

Mobile-first layouts

Every report ships with a phone layout in the Power BI Mobile app. The owner checks it on their phone at lunch — they don't wait to sit down at a laptop.

Governance & security

Row-level and object-level security wired to Entra ID group membership. Sensitivity labels, DLP-aware sharing, and audit log ingestion into your SIEM. Auditor-ready by default, not by retrofit.

Engagement tiers

Pick the shapethat fits the work

From a one-week quick win to a monthly retainer that keeps things running. Fixed fee where we can, T&M where we can't — and priced so a small business can actually say yes.Numbers below are starting estimates. Final rates vary with scope, data complexity, and timeline — every engagement is quoted after a short discovery call.

Quick Report

A single business question, answered fast.

From$600/ report

Estimate — final rate varies with scope

 • 1–2 week delivery
 • Single subject area & data source
 • Small star-schema model + DAX
 • One polished Power BI report
 • 1 round of feedback + polish
 • Handover doc & short training video
Scope a quick win

Ongoing Support

A fractional BI hand, on retainer.

From$300/ month

Estimate — final rate varies with scope

 • Report iteration & new visuals
 • DAX tuning & refresh monitoring
 • Small monthly capacity check
 • Quarterly governance & lineage review

Prices shown are starting estimates, not fixed quotes. Every tier ends up with a written scope, a fixed-fee option where possible, and a transparent statement of work — no surprise change orders.

Use cases

Where Power BIchanges the meeting

A dashboard is only worth building if it changes a decision. Below are the recurring patterns where clients see a return within a quarter.

Sales dashboards

Pipeline velocity, rep quotas, and forecast attainment fed live from CRM. Weekly review meetings collapse from 90 minutes to 20.

Financial reporting

Consolidated P&L, cash position, and variance analysis modelled once, distributed across ledgers, entities, and currencies.

Operational metrics

OEE, cycle time, defect PPM, and inventory turns unified from MES and ERP. Line managers stop chasing spreadsheets.

Retail & e-commerce

Basket size, contribution margin, and cohort retention across marketplaces, stores, and DTC channels.

Healthcare analytics

Throughput, LOS, and case-mix indexes with governed PHI access and audit trails. HIPAA-aware from day one.

People analytics

Attrition risk, DEI representation, and internal mobility with role-based access and de-identified benchmarks.

Microsoft Fabric guidance

Should you actually move to Fabric?

Fabric is an SaaS-style extension of Power BI Premium, inspired by the Databricks lakehouse. For some teams it's a strategic upgrade; for others it's a $270-a-month curiosity. We'll tell you which — with your workloads, not a demo tenant.

When Fabric earns its keep

 • You have meaningful data sitting in flat files (CSV, Excel) — columnar storage inside Fabric loads much faster and shrinks file sizes dramatically
 • You want a SQL endpoint on top of Power Query pipelines
 • You need to capture and store history from APIs over time
 • You're already on Power BI Premium and want DevOps pipelines, notebooks, and mirroring

When Fabric is overkill

 • Your data lives happily in SQL Server and Power BI import mode already works
 • You have no data engineers or data scientists to leverage Spark
 • Your monthly compute needs are minutes, not hours
 • You're not on Power BI Premium and can't justify F2 baseline cost (~$270/mo)

How we help either way

 • Benchmark your workloads on a Fabric 60-day trial
 • Design a pragmatic medallion (bronze / silver / gold) that fits a small team
 • Set up surge protection and capacity monitoring so an F2 doesn't burst into an F64 bill
 • Migrate cleanly, or hand you a written recommendation to stay on Pro / PPU
